Pop Pkwy insanity continues
It's a crazy mixed-up schedule for me this month of November! Hopefully I'll get time to post more info and audio clips from my 11/06 debut interview with Phillip Gregory of Seattle pop-rock band Carousel.
11/13: Taking a break for me & my wife to attend an event with Leilani (Passport host of hi-energy modern world music program, Fridays 7-8:30 pm). Good news, while I'm OOF, you'll be treated to a special version of my pop show by sub Jeff Hofman, whom you may recognize from Dusties, Saturdays 5-7 pm, where he spins 60s-70s R&B with a touch of 40s-50s. Not only does he have one of the coolest R&B collections ever, he has enough of his own material to do my program! (Green with envy)
11/27: Getting a similar assist from the one & only Jon Noe, your trusty source for tons of classic 40s-50s jump blues & jive on Juke Joint, Sundays 1-3 pm. I happen to be a big fan of his show too! He's digging thru his crates to craft his take on my show and sub for me while me & my wife fly out of state for a special family holiday gathering. To mark the occasion, I'll put in a mini-tribute to my stepmom Jane on the 11/20 show.
Now Jeff and Jon join an exclusive club of DJs who've subbed for me, including not only Leilani but also Jerry (From Here To Obscurity) and Van (Pull The String). Well who knows, you may hear me return the favor, sooner or later...
Have fun and happy listening! --Lon (Poptopia Parkway)
