DRIFT CHAMBER ***New Show - Mon 6pm

THIS WEEK: As a child, Mary Gruenewald was interned with her family after Pearl Harbor. She and her family were taken from their farm on Vashon Island and locked up at Tule Lake, California. They, along with thousands of other loyal Americans of Japanese heritage lost their property and homes, but never their dignity or sense of worth. She tells her story in the Drift Chamber with host Steve Hersch.   DRIFT CHAMBER with Steve Hersch In physics a drift chamber is used to search for next to nothing; the wisp of energy known as the muon. In this audio Drift Chamber, words and music are used to make connections and separations. Some voices speak in metaphor while others are literal. Music mixes with spoken words to tell a particular story. The music comes from all sources; the words come from writers, poets, artists, scientists, musicians, and just people. All of whom have stories that intrigue.
