The KSER Foundation is an independent non-profit foundation 501 (c) 3 governed by a Board of Directors elected annual by our donor/members. Board members typically serve a three-year term, unless appointed to fill current open seats, and are limited to three consecutive terms.
The Board usually meets 7:00 - 9:00pm the second Tuesday of the month at the KSER studios at 2623 Wetmore Ave, Everett WA 98201. The public is welcome to attend.

On Public Radio: Community radio affords a voice to those whom mainstream media often devalues or ignores. It supports and challenges, with honesty and integrity. KSER creates a forum for dialogue that only a non-profit, community-based station can provide.
Board / Community Experience: Served on the Children's Commission, the Youth Initiative, and YMCA Teen Services. Former member of the Family Drug Court steering committee. Campaign Manager for the George Appel for Judge Campaign. One of the hosts of Youth Voice, a teen radio talk show that started out at KRKO and moved to KSER in Lynnwood.

On Public Radio: Community radio provides a vital service by sharing local news, information, and entertainment. It also provides a soapbox for citizens to express their thoughts and opinions.
Board / Community Experience: One of the founding members of the KSER foundation in 1994. Currently serving as KSER Treasurer and board member. Other board experiences include the Washington Lung Association, the Friends of Richmond Beach Library, the Air & Waste Management Association president and board, the Richmond Beach Community Association board, and board positions at the Richmond Beach Congregational-UCC church.

On Public Radio: Community radio is an absolutely essential resource for any community...presenting local perspectives that community members need to make informed decisions on local issues and providing perspective on world and national issues that are not usually given by the large
media machines. Community radio can serve as the voice for the disenfranchised, who, due to lack of wealth or political power, otherwise have no voice.
Board / Community Experience: Recently completed ten year term on the Board of Directors for Washington Air Search and Rescue (WASAR). Served on the Board of Directors for the Arlington Air Show (Arlington Fly-In). Was member for 8 years on the Citizens’ Police Advisory Board for the city of Snohomish.

On Public Radio: Community radio is a vital component of a society that values diversity of opinion and informed citizens.
Board / Community Experience: I am in my fifth term as a board member for a family-owned business based in Billings, Montana, and I serve as a founding member of the Advisory Committee for Cura Orphanage, a home in Kenya for 50 children who lost their parents to AIDS. Throughout my years at the college, I have served on policy-making and oversight committees, as well as on the executive council for the faculty union. I am a graduate of the Leadership Snohomish County class of 2011.

Board / Community Experience: Actively served on her community of faith’s board of directors from 1997-2005. Served as Loaned Executive for United Way of King County, fall 2008.

Our community needs to have this essential resource to preserve the local democratic process, provide the opportunity for all views to be heard and debate what is important in our part of the world.

On Public Radio: I believe passionately in the power of radio to inform, inspire, entertain, and connect us to one another and to issues that matter. And I believe deeply in our responsibility and ability to affect the communities where we live and work.
Board / Community Experience: Served on KSER board and Executive Committee since 2005. Extensive management, resource development, and community building experience. Karen has successfully developed and nurtured relationships with corporate and individual partners, and has staffed and stewarded many volunteer teams. Member: Association of Fundraising Professionals, Northwest Development Officers Association & WA Planned Giving Council.
