Danny played some Beatles outtakes a while back. I wrote and asked him where I could get them. I wanted to share them with my son, who is a young musician as a Christmas present. Danny was kind enough to send a copy of the recordings.

I told Danny that I thought that hearing the Beatles' rough recordings might encourage my son to keep working on his music. It did! My son began a band called "Leafeater". Hearing the back stories and mistakes encouraged my son to be a better musician and get his music out. Leafeater plays in Portland, and my son loves to listen to the gift recordings from Danny.

We are sorry that Danny passed away before we got to send him the first Leafeater cd. HIs kindness and sharing still makes me smile as I recall some story he shared on the radio, and when I listen to my son's band, I know that Danny sent some encouragement to help another generation.

Thanks for today's memorial show! We miss Danny!
