THIS WEEK:  Today on Sound Living, some of the people in our region who are creating the future talk about their visions.  On November 6th, the Sno-Isle Library gathered some of the most fascinating thinkers and does in the region at the Edmonds Center for the Arts for TEDx, a one-day conversation titled  Creating New Futures. Today on Sound Living, you’ll hear edited remarks from six of the presenters.

Today on Sound Living, you’ll hear edited remarks from six of the presenters.

David Swanson, interviews guests on a wide range of topics but with a particular focus on peace, justice, and political action. Guests have included authors, artists, activists, and elected officials. The length of the interviews allows some in-depth exploration of topics often under-reported elsewhere.

THIS WEEK:  A Good American. A new film by Austrian director Freidrich Moser, "A Good American," tells the story of the mathematician many consider the best code-breaker the US ever had and how he and a small team within the NSA created ThinThread, a highly effective computer surveillance program.

THIS WEEK:  Buying The Farm. This week's guest, author Dean Kuipers, explores how farms get the money they need to grow the food we eat. In his recently published Orion magazine article, "Buying the Farm," Kuipers picks apart the financial landscape of agriculture and compares financing for big agri-business versus smaller sustainable farming.
