Peace Activist George Mann - Mon 6pm

Musician George Mann is an artist for peace and an artist for veterans. His concerts focus on the impact of war on soldiers and their families, with emphasis on their needs once the soldier returns home. He talks about his music and you’ll hear some of his songs in this conversation with Gabriele. He performs at Zippy’s Java Lounge on April 13th at 6 p.m.  

Interview with Larry Bailly - Mon 6pm

An interview with Larry Bailly, a local man who makes annual mission trips to Haiti, and who was just about to go there when the earthquake struck, and, commentary by Gabriele Bartholomew revealing some of her thoughts on Haiti as Haitian-American. Learn about the complex relationship the US has with Haiti and why we should reconsider how we relate to this proud neighbor of ours.

“Message from the Elders” - Mon 6pm

This week, a re-broadcast of a program from earlier in the year:  "A Message from the Elders." It’s about global climate change, delivered by Lisa Powers, a Tulalip Elder.  With the UN Climate Talks in Copenhagen beginning this month, the program is a timely reminder of the challenges facing our species at this time and the responsibility that we have to insure our elected representatives fully realize that we must act now to save life on Earth as we know it.

Artists Across the Country - Mon 11/2 6pm

The Power of Peace has its first conversation with an artist across the country.  Sarah Haskell, in the state of Maine, has been creating an ongoing community art project since December 2007. She is weaving peace/prayer flags, based on the Tibetan prayer flag; with the help of people from around the world, and sending them back out into the world to spread messages of peace.
