Classical Edge

The Bach Toccata and Fugue (number one on the top 40) that I played for the first time (in April) on CE, is now being played again.  Why?  In the beginning when I heard the first measure I said to myself, nope, I won't play this.  Then I decided to take a little deeper review/audit...  This arrangement (by the "progressive/maverick" organist Cameron Carpenter) at first I felt had maybe two dozen variations from the version E. Power Biggs played in the 1960's.  With further analysis there could be a thousand variations.  Very different.  You will need to listen to this in your basement home theater with no background sounds. It won't work in your car driving the freeway!!  Tremendous dynamics.    Playlist for CE  30 July and 4 August 2013
