Free event!! The Hours of Life, a new musical by Paul Lewis presented as an Orchestrated, Staged Reading. The Hours of Life weaves the story of the obsessive love affair between the original ‘goth-father’, Edgar Allan Poe and Rhode Island poet Sarah Helen Whitman. Set at the dawning of the Machine Age, the play reveals a fateful encounter in Poe’s past – one involving a German swindler and his sidekick, a Bavarian dwarf grand chess master, which threatens to doom whatever chance Poe and Whitman have of finding happiness together.
