What a great question. I

What a great question. I have a son who is 8 and he loves to exercise. Workouts for younger kids should mainly focus on cardio activity. Doing exercise such as swimming, biking, hiking and sports activities such as soccer for 60 minitues a day will give kids a great foundation and are fun and heart healthy. Doing body weight exercise like squats, push ups and sit ups are all fun too. The key is to make sure they build a solid foundation, balance and a strong core. Doing family fun workout/exercise challenges are great to do. Something my family and I do are scavenger hunts with exercise challenges at the park. We will create a list of things to find at the park and exercises to accomplish, it's a lot of fun. Just remember to make it fun when the whole family is involved.

Thanks for listening
